When you stand at the precipice,

It is hard not to look down.

You think to yourself, one small step

Is all it takes to make a world of difference.

You tell yourself that you must tread carefully,

For one right step brings you closer to the embrace of Nature,

And one wrong step brings you to its heels.

All that weight, on a single step.

But here’s the dilemma —

Your proximity to the edge of the world

Does not make you a better hiker.

You are as clumsy as you are on the way up here.

So let loose your breath, relax a little.

Give yourself a pat for completing your journey up.

Your next step will be just like any other,

For death does not await you below, it is just an open ocean.
